If a supporter makes a donation and it was not associated to a sponsorship as intended, you can edit the donation to associate it to the sponsorship.

Note: Common scenarios could be perhaps a Supporter made an online recurring donation to a General Fund but instead, wants it to be applied to their Sponsorship, or donations from a Donation History Import did not get attached to their Sponsorships correctly.

For Single Donations:#

• Go to Donation History
• Locate the donation
• Click Edit Donation
• Select the Purpose
• Select the Sponsorship
• Click Save Changes

For Recurring Donations:#

You will need to cancel the recurring donation, and set it up again from the Sponsorship.

If the Sponsorship has not been selected yet, please refer to the instructions for starting a sponsorship for a supporter.

If the sponsorship is already set up for the supporter:

• Locate the Sponsorship Supporter record
• If the sponsorship is set up as Offline, click Donation Actions > Convert to Automatic Credit/Debit
• You will be taken to the cart for checkout. Ensure that the cart information is correct. 
• Click Checkout to be taken to the payment screen.
• Set a Date, a future date is allowed
  • Note: The sponsorship will be noted as sponsored but the first donation will not take place until the date you indicate.
• Verify the purpose, amount, currency and payment type. 
• Add a Reference Number or code if desired. 
• Select the preference for Transaction Fee
• Select the preferred Recurring Period
• Choose an End Date (optional) and review other options. 
• Click Create. 
• Complete the set up by either clicking Use Account on File or Change Payment Method.
